Last night at work, I got weird names calling. I don't know if it's due to the fact that it was the 13th last night, though it wasn't Friday the 13th anyway.
So, here's what happened.
There was this customer whose last name ends in Lambo. I was so tempted to ask, "When lambo?" I really needed to know, cause my crypto portfolio has been rekt since btc dipped from 10k to 3k. But lambo guy seems to be not doing any business with digital currency.
After the call ended with Mr. Lambo, the phone rang immediately, and on the other line is someone named Muzurious. I thought the name was hilarious, but I had to stifle my laugh as I assisted her with her concerns.
I wasn't yet finished thinking how mean Muzurious' parents were for giving her that name when the phone rang up again.
"Hello, thank you for calling. This is Yaki. Can I have your first and last name?"
"My name is Godspower."
"Uh, nice to meet you um, Godspower. How may I help you?"
Yada yada yada yada.
Godspower was upset. May God give him some peace of mind. I reassured him so.
This is only 1/4 part of what happens in the customer service. Most of the times, you get bad calls, because the customers are upset. Come to think of it, why would someone call the customer service hotline if there is nothing wrong, or if they don't have questions? Especially if you handle billing department or technical department, you're more likely to encounter irate customers. The former is about money, and the latter is the lack of entertainment, because the devices be it tv, an app, or mobiles are not working. The bottom line is, both issues can send humans fly off the handle at once.
So, at least these names made my day 10% happier, and I put them in the 5% good calls archive.
How about you? Have you ever worked in the customer service? What's your funniest experience? Let me know.
