I have set a travel goal for this year, planning a trip in November, most likely Korea, but might be changing last minute.
It might just sound like a normal goal, but the financial pressure is there. I plan to bring my whole family which includes my wife and the 2 kids. I also plan to bring my parents on this trip. It's been a long time they go for a trip.
For the flight, I need to budget for 4 adults and 2 kids and we not going to choose a budget airline, so I guess at least S$4k should be ready just for the flight. I estimate another S$4~5k required if we stay some proper homestay and foods. It's gonna be an S$10k trip most likely.
It might not be a simple goal but I feel it's achievable. I always want to bring my parent for a proper trip. My brother and I did bring them for some family trip before, but most of the time is mostly budget trip, take a budget flight. I just wish to be able to bring them for a proper trip, take a normal flight.
Some people suggest why not save more money until you can bring them out more comfortably? But remember this for their age, by the time you really save enough money, they might not be able to walk properly already. Of course with my current income, that's a bit tight to plan a trip like this, but I just feel stress and work hard now then later I regret because I didn't fulfil my this little wish to bring them for a proper trip.
