It has been over a year since my last public appearance at the stage. After previous year, when I had quite many talks I promised myself I would keep a sabbatical from that stuff. At the time it didn't work out, I still ended up speaking twice last year.

But after those two occasions it has now been a year already. I have achieved that goal. A bit late and without trying after I gave up. Oh, and I don't count all those talks I have given internally within our company.

I think it's time to step into the spotlight once again. I have a lot of new topics I would like to talk about. It's also part of my personal brand building. See, I have learnt something from the sales training already. But in the end I'm sure that's good for my career be it sales or consulting. Being a recognised expert on the field definitely opens doors and brings opportunities.

I already have one bigger conference in sight where I'm pretty sure I could get my session approved. But before that, it would be nice to have a couple of practice rounds in some smaller events to perfect my talk.

@Arcticloon hey! Good luck getting back into it. It seems like you have the experience and you'll be fine!

Do you have any advice for someone planning to do there first public talk? Small scale, but maybe 20~ people at a meetup. I'd love to hear some advice! Thanks!

@craigpetterson The best you can do is to practice your talk. Go through it in front of someone you trust. Ask feedback. Go over it in your head over and over again. Record it and play it through taking notes (what to improve, but also what went well). Trust yourself! It's an exciting opportunity, go for it!
