Most decision-making and creativity is stifled by the idea there's only one right answer. One choice that stands head and shoulders above the rest, but we're unable to see just how great this answer is in relation to all other options vying to be picked.

The truth is, in the vast majority of cases, there are multiple, equally great options to choose from. The app you're working on can be designed in 10 ways, and they will all lead to the enjoyable user experience you're hoping to create.

Choosing from a number of job applicants? The 3 that stood out will probably be just as good as each other. They may have different personalities and will, therefore, lead to different work experiences (different jokes, book recommendations, etc). Different, but not better.

Beauty can be experienced in different ways.

Enjoyment can be experienced in different ways.

Not sure what book to ready? If you intend to read more than one book, which book you read first doesn't matter as much as you make it out to be.

There's no one right answer.

This applies to many aspects of life. Writing can be improved with this principle in mind: WHAT you choose to right about at this point in time isn't as significant a choice as WRITING itself. There are multiple pieces you can write that are equally good. And this principle goes down to how you sequence the piece, structure your sentences, and select your potatoes. I mean words, but I had to demonstrate how writing can be taken in so many different directions.

Don't be a slave to the "one right answer" mentality.

Embrace the truth that there are many equally good choices you can accept.

This will help you become a more decisive decision-maker and a more productive, less stressed out individual.
