This is a common occurrence on 200wad and I've not seen anybody else bring it up, which is why I will. I didn't want it to come to this but it has gotten to the point people are flaunting their transgressions outright. It is inadmissible.

Like many other rules governing good conduct and common sense this rule does not have to be written anywhere. It is, nonetheless, a rule. Nobody needs to enforce it because, as with other unwritten rules, it is (should be) enforced through self-discipline and a desire to avoid the scorn of the community.

Those who choose to break it, however, display their scorn for our community with impunity. It is as if they were trying to re-write the unwritten rule.

There isn't a day that passes where I  don't read several posts that severely violate the rule.

These posts usually go something like, "Here I am posting on 200wad, it is hard to post on 200wad, my streak is 2 x 200wad, maybe if I write '200 words a day' instead of '200wad' I get three extra words on 200wad, do you agree about 200wad? There it is, I just hit my 200wad."

It is a well known fact that the strength of a community lies in its members not talking about the community. Look at the Freemasons.  Look at the Mafia (that's how it works). Look at Fight Club. Look at every highly successful self-actualizing endeavor.

You don't talk about it, you do it.

I'm writing this with all of the scorn I can muster. This post is dedicated to those who are forever breaking the first and most important rule of 200wad: On 200wad, we don't talk about 200wad.

PS: Can somebody sticky this?
