When you think about failure it's very easy to slip into a negative mindset or even grow to fear failure because of the negative emotions we usually associate with failure. But when you get to root of it, it all depends on how you define failure. Based on a quick Google search, "failure is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat". When we break this down further, we often avoid situations out of the fear of failure. This often causes a vicious cycle that seeps into our personal and professional life. Regardless of how simple it may seem, if you're afraid to fail, you're afraid to succeed. Repeat that and embrace it.

When you begin to frame failure as a learning opportunity, you realize that failure is simply a fear of learning. Think about it. When you failed to accomplish a task or reach a goal if you review the situation hard enough you more than likely learned something along the way. What you learned can be applied in the next instance to whatever goal or task you're trying to accomplish. This can help increase your likelihood of success or the very least, provide additional learning. The only true failure stems from your ability to not learn.

@antoniogaryjr. - Amen to that. That's my personal code for living.
In my opinion, the most successful people are the ones that are not afraid to fail. Particularly when it comes to personal relationships and business.

@antoniogaryjr. Learn, challenge yourself, and keep moving. But be light about it, like children are. In this manner you will reap the rewards of a life fulfilled.

@antoniogaryjr. There are only thing you succeed in, and the things you learn from.

@Arcticloon +1. After I adopted this mindset I viewed failure as simply not learning.
