Sign up period for our next game ended on Monday. Quite far towards the end, the situation looked worrying, but apparently, a lot of people leave that kind of things to the last moment as we got rather a large portion of our total signups during those last few hours.
Yesterday we spent some time going through all the applications and it seems the casting will be relatively easy. At least for the training goal part. Almost all goals received enough applicants so they are set. Only two of those were sort and we had to do some arrangements from the secondary picks to get those groups up to a minimum number of members.
And then there was my goal. It attracted most applicants, three times the amount required. So, where other groups were mostly all who applied to it I had to make the tough choice of who gets in and who is left out. Reading through those applications except for the few I would have wanted to take them all into my group. But knowing how difficult it gets to herd bigger groups I had to do those hard choices. Evaluating whether the secondary choice of theirs would be a better fit. Or at least something they would still be motivated enough to journey.
In the end, I managed to get my group down to eight members. Only two more than initially planned. I hope I can manage that extra responsibility an still give enough focus to everyone.
