For some reason, I have a propensity to scare people when I'm walking.

I noticed that, when I turn corners, I usually take the shortest route by making tight and quick turns, often scaring someone else who happens to be coming around that same corner.

I also tend to swing open doors with more force than is necessary, once nearly causing my professor to spill his coffee all over himself. Furthermore, I like to jog up and down stairs (imagine football drills) instead of walking.

I wonder if this pattern of movement reflects my impatient personality. So when my mom tried to chastise me by calling me an elephant, maybe it wasn't so much a "stop stomping around the house you're driving me bonkers" as much as it may have been a "why do you feel the need to be heavy-handed/footed with everything" call to attention.

Which might have been necessary, as both my brother and I are not incredibly self-aware about these shared habits. Ironically, we are very slow and meticulous thinkers, but still lazy in physical activity (we like to minimize the things we have to do). I wonder what it is about people like me and my brother that causes us to move the way we do.

    @vickenstein As a people-watcher I would be entertained seeing you causing 0-60 reactions in people when you turn around corners and throw doors open.

      @brandonwilson I never thought much of it growing up, so I'd like to know how I look going about my everyday life to other people, in a disengaged body sort of way... xD

    @vickenstein

    lol do you drive? And if you do, do you drive in a similar way to how you move around physically?

      @abrahamKim I like to think that I drive more cautiously, haha. I've been taught that being a predictable driver is the safe thing to do!
