Earlier this month, my mind wandered often to this Steve Jobs quote alot. At that time, i felt it's the best career advice anyone can ever receive.
But then it's much more.
It implies staying hungry is a decision not a feeling. It's a choice.
I feel this answers @jacklyons who asked why he should keep up with the streak some days back.
When you choose stay hungry, you'll keep boredom at bay. Mental relaxation as a result of big achievement is never the case of those who choose to stay hungry. The next 100 streak is as important as the next 100 and the next and the next....
A popular name who has given expression to Staying Hungry is Elon Musk. Elon could have relaxed after the success of PayPal. Elon have since built and taken over companies (yeah, he didn't found Tesla) that are changing the world, literally.
Keeping up your desire in any endeavour is a choice. You need to find those things that ignited your excitement in the first place and keep them close. You need to keep your "why" at the fore and never lose its consciousness.
Tend the fire. It's not on auto-renew.
Tend the excitement. It will want to die.
It's hard, but that's the demand of a happy life.
By the way - I need a good Stay Hungry Stay Foolish Wallpaper, links anyone?
