Some people got it by parentage, some of us have to earn it.

You have to work your way up, doing everything required so you can have the freedom to focus on what you really love to do. Say you're an artisan who desires to build a company out of the craft. In the beginning, you are the one filling every single role in the company CEO, CFO, Technician, Customer Support etc. Doing all of this is necessary because you have to earn the freedom to focus on that which you really love.

If you're in a third world country where the jobs aren't there, you would have to do every available job to earn the job you really love. You might start out as a waiter at Domino Pizza even with your Bsc. That's the job that could make you enough money to buy a laptop, register for that certification exam, or even keep you going till you get your desired job.

All I'm saying is you might have to earn the right to do what you love to do. You gotta wear many hats to earn the privilege to wear that one hat you love to wear. When you're faced with that do not shy away from it.

A conversation in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) goes like this ...

Christopher Gardner : [after playing basket ball] Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?
Christopher : All right.
Christopher Gardner : You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.

    @keni @abrahamKim

Don't know how both of you missed this, but you're forgiven :).

Abe, I attempted a regurgitation of an old post of yours, what do you think of it? I learnt from it and I hope to include the concept in an ebook I'm writing.

Keni, whatcha think on both posts, I guess you missed the parent post.

btw. you know how Baz is very open about his 200WAD development. I've seen you say that you're writing a book on here, but is there any place you're leaving it all bare so that people can keep up on your progress?

@abrahamKim Em, no place as such, except the Google Docs. The plan is to have completed all the articles (ready for editing) before the end of April, then if I fail at that, I'll 'hijack' someone to keep me accountable.

      Any ideas?

@seunoyebode - Oh I just commented on the other post.
April ends in a few days Seun. I can only provide motivation in that time frame.
      Go Seun Go.

@seunoyebode - I didn't see it. Or the parent post.... but I have a comment on this one.

The reason I am most impressed by what you are doing it because I am familiar with what it is like to be in a third world country. To do what you do and still push out a post requires more discipline that most people have. And that is why I tell you that you will go on to do great things with this type of Grit & Discipline. I have a lot to learn from you and it would be an honor to create a mafia team together.

    "My competition, it's beyond offensive
I'm in it for the glory, not the honor mention
Not tryna be fourth and inches, I'm tryna go the distance"

"How you forget to fill up with gas on the road to riches?
Too overly ambitious, too late to fix it"

@seunoyebode @abrahamKim - I think I understand Sir Abe now. Whenever he reads a post - he immediately gets a rap equivalent in his head.

You know, I can rap. Maybe we can create a rap mafia. :) We would be the most talented rappers Sir Abe and me. Like the fugees.

@seunoyebode Absolutely agree. People want instant success and straight to the fame and fortune without putting in the time and earning it.

@brandonwilson True that. Some are plain impatient or say overambitious. Some are simply ignorant.
