What a writing prompt.

Reading through the replies so far, I had read interesting perspectives.

@jasonleow reply reveals some thoughtful statements. One question he asked is

Have you ever done anything intentionally for 1826 days straight without a break?

Me?

I'm not sure.

But I must have read of Olympians who prepared three to four years for the Olympics. Some of them never broke a streak. They eventually showed up and we labelled them Outliers.

I love Jason's piece. 1826 is the new goal.

It is possible, @brandonwilson said

With enough quantity, quality emerges.

When aiming for 1826, you're less concerned about quality, just keep showing up, daily.

1826 is the new obsession.

Haider @haideralmosawi wrote from an interesting perspective. Similar to Abe @abrahamKim.

In five years time, I would have gotten a remote developer job in the US or Europe, working from Lagos, Nigeria. Hope to achieve that in 6 months a la Haider heuristic. Maybe I would have moved to New Zealand also, not sure.

I must have published at least two books. My newsletter must have grown to over a thousand readers.

I must have travelled and met one or several members of the 200WAD Mafia in real live. Whatever takes me out of Nigeria now must make room for that (LOL).

Five years is possible. It's more of a test of character than about the ability to write. You only need to decide to open this site every day and publish something.

See yourself as a writer, write more than 200 words on days when you have a massive flow of writing juice, save in drafts, post it on busy days or when indisposed.

The community is also there for help, you're not alone. I had zero idea of what to write about today, @santoshguru writing prompt came in handy. There have been days when @keni chatted me up to remind me time is almost out, I need to post. That's the mafia effect - community power.

In five years, some of us would have gotten married, raised kids, changed homes, changed careers, sell a company to Google or Facebook, some might even run for an office.

In all of that, 1826 is possible.

And when you see 1826 face to face. Your thoughts would have gotten finer. You would have gained a better understanding of yourself. You would have shared stuff with the world you called crappy, but the world calls epic.

In fact, most likely you will also be labelled an Outlier.

1826.

@seunoyebode wow nice. I love that you were not daunted by 1826. To be honest, I was. I wasn't sure that's even possible. Great that you're taking this up! Inspires the rest of us, towards being extreme outliers

@seunoyebode - I predict we are all outliers already. The tribe here are all outliers to many people. At 1826 - we will be extreme outliers. I hope some of us would meet and some of us would create things together. Intentionally. :)
    Nice one Seun.
    It was a nice prompt.

@seunoyebode I like that, "have you done anything intentionally for 1826 days." But in reality, many people might actually do the same thing for many years. Maybe not intentionally, per se, but the end result is no different; a certain expertise, an edge, outlier status.
