I joined David in a waking up at 5am - an experiment for a week.
I have tried this in the past. But didn't succeed.
I was looking into ways to improve my Oura sleep score lately. One of the variables is time of sleep.
So when David talked about doing this experiment, I got excited.
From Monday - Thursday, I woke up at 5am everyday.
Monday - I woke up on time and stayed up for a little bit - but went right back to sleep. But I was able to wake up earlier than usual.
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - I managed to stay up.
Each day got easier.
My Oura Sleep score was excellent.
I got to work very early.
I avoided traffic to woek.
I got back three extra hours after work that I had to decide what to do with.
The perfect time slot for the gym, for walking, for a class or cooking.
And still make it to bed at 9pm.
Wake up at 5am.
Solid 8 hours of sleep.
I am happy that I got to finally execute on waking up early.
I too will continue this and post my progress here.
Thank you David for sharing this idea.
@keni Love it!
@brandonwilson - Thank you Brandon. Chasing your Oura score!
@keni wow 5am starts! You're on a peak streak!
@jasonleow - I am trying to get work on that LUCK Jason :)
@keni .. hmm interesting .. I am curios .. are you feeling actually better if your score is high or it is more just placebo effect? That you must feel better ... i do not say its bad thing in both ways .. just curious hehe
@efran - Yes I agree.. It could 100% be the placebo effect. I am actively pursuing placebo effects in my life - :) As long as they get me positive results - I am happy.
However, the score takes things like sleep, time to bed, time of waking up, # of steps taken, resting heart rate and many other variables into account when giving me the score. So I feel like it is a good reflection of the things I should do to feel food.
