At some points of my life, I was so fixated on being me that I refused to change.
Now, I am so fixated on being me that I am compelled to.
Here are some of the things that I am changing.
I'm reading every time I sit down on the 412 bus. I read in other places too but because of the almost daily commute, having this ritual means that I make meaningful progress on my one book.
I'm keeping track of what books, articles, and blinks I read. Podcasts and audio books too. Knowing what I'm reading has meant I do more of it.
If I take out my phone, I'm usually reading. Without social media or browsers on there, the choices are usually Medium, Blinkist, or Kindle.
I'm looking into ways to cement the learnings - action plans and reference material, maybe a commonplace book?
I'm publishing daily to here.
I'm shifting client work to focus more on creating content.
I'm learning from the great writers through their books and through material I can find online.
I'm paying down debt.
I'm contributing to savings.
I'm being choosy with my work.
I'm being mindful of what I purchase.
I'm tweaking the system constantly.
