The lyrics of the song are beautiful. The line that speaks to me the most is this:
I, I keep a record of the wreckage in my life
Though the line itself is portrayed negatively, I think it adds to the character and who you are today. Your past experiences make up who you are today and that's just life. Aka just need to fight through what ever you are going through and be better every day.
The pre-chorus of the song straight up refers to the creepy people on the sidewalk who catcall.
"Come on, little lady, give us a smile"
No, I ain't got nothin' to smile about
I got no one to smile for, I waited a while for
A moment to say I don't owe you a goddamn thing
I remember the first time I was in a situation where I was just minding my own business and out of no where I hear people catcalling.
wtf do you do in that situation?
First thing I thought about was what provoked the situation. Then, should I acknowledge it or just keep walking?
When ever I am in a situation like that, I just ignore it and keep moving forward.
