Hello, stranger. It's my first 200 words.

To be honest, I wanted to start writing in December, but I didn't know what to write here for a long time. Today is a lucky day β€” I pulled yourself together and came up with a topic idea!

I'm not a native English speaker. I created an English environment around myself to practice this language some times ago. My phone, social networks, Google are in English, I even speak in English with foreign people, but... I stuck. I feel that my language skill doesn't grow, my skill is dying slowly.

Here I want to add a nice quote:

If you don't progress, you regress. (c)me, and maybe someone else

The most worth thing is that I know the reason of this regress. I decided to stop this outrage.

When I had breakfast, I watched a video about the benefits of keeping a diary in foreign languages. So, benefits are evident and my needs in writing are evident too... But this video inspired me and I promised myself that I'll keep a diary in English every day for 30 days.

Then I will extend the period because 30 is a little time for this thing.

Why 30? Why couldn't I set 60, 100, 666 or 10000000 days at once? The number 30 doesn't seem scary. I feel that I can write while 30 days every day, but I don't feel that I can write for 100 days every day. Also, it's a good time for tracking the progress.

Here I want to add another nice quote:

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by a huge goal? Break ambitious goals down into small easily accessible pieces. (c)Wersatiles

I don't know how to continue, I got lost because I didn't know what I want to say by this article. Dear stranger, you just need to know that I'll practice my English for 30 days and more.

I think that I complete 200 words for today. Thanks for reading. I'm really glad that I did it today.

P.S. I know what I'll write about tomorrow. c:

@monolesan I am a native speaker neither. I agree that setting a right size of goals is important for learning. It shold be not too difficult but not to easy.

@monolesan I also am not a native speaker, yet as you have mentioned, though practicing daily progress is inevitable, just like in any other skill :) Good luck on your journey!

@monolesan Congratulations on your first post! I admire your resolve to learn English as a non-native English speaker. I wish you the best!
