Launch more projects
I tend to be slow to start new projects and this past year I haven't launched any new projects. While I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with focusing on a few projects I think I have the capacity to try a couple more. My slower rate is more due to hesitating with my ideas because I want to pick the right ones. I'd like to be more willing to quickly launch and test an idea rather than spend so much time deciding which to work on.
Passion projects only
Part of my hesitation has been a desire to build projects that I can make profitable to get to financial independence. But in the past few months, I've realised trying to force myself to only work on projects that are easily monetisable just isn't for me. I rather invest time in projects I care about, figure out how to make it profitable and if it fails I'll take what I've learnt and use it for the next project.
In the past I've only written blog posts when something really inspires me to write but waiting for those moments leaves me with just a handful of posts each year. So far I've really enjoyed this challenge so I'd like to continue while also writing longer pieces that take more time to refine.
I was thinking that I'd like to be more active on social media but that doesn't fully capture what I'd like to do. In the past few years, I've curbed my social media activity because I didn't want to get caught up posting content for likes. But I think that has left me less connected and less open than I used to be. I've always been pretty guarded but that's something I've been working on and I'd like to extend that to social media and my projects as well. Not just sharing metrics or what I'm working on but honest and sincere moments of my journey.
