I have started another coding project, and this time it's a job board. It's basically an aggregator of remote jobs that can be found online.
For this to work I need to do a combination of scraping and fetching from an API. I did a few scraping projects before but without success, mostly because I always get stuck dealing with asynchronous requests and ended giving up too quickly. This time I will do my best to make it work.
There are lots of job board already, so that makes it easier for me to reference the kind of job board I want to make.
At the very least I'd like my job board to have these information:
- the company that's hiring
- the job title
- location. Despite being remote, there are some distinction. Unfortunately, most remote companies—especially the well established ones—prefer remote workers in the US time zone.
- job details
- the URL to apply.
The reason I chose this project is because I believe it has the right amount of challenge for me. Once completed, it has a chance to grow into something bigger than just a hobby project. Even if it doesn't, it sure makes a damn cool portfolio :)
Wish me luck!
