I am here now in a McDonald's restaurant, studying English as usual. Studying English or something is indeed a usual thing to me since I am still a student but at McDonald's?!?! Nah this is unusual..., For me, at least :)) But for now, I have no other choice but staying here to keep studying whatever I have to study until 24:00.

I don't know how it works in other countries, but here in Japan libraries usually close at 20:00. Some of them even close much earlier; close at 17:00. I still don't understand the reason why here public libraries have to be closed at night. But I would love going to any of them if it was open all day long and night. I personally like reading books at night. Because nighttime is the only option for me in most cases to have time to read. Also, somehow it feels good when I read books at night. My imagination goes beyond its limit when I think while reading something at night :)) But sadly, there is no a place (except McDonald's xD) to stay and read books at night in Japan.

Btw, everything I have said above is about public libraries. There are some privately owned places to go and stay overnight to read books or watch movies. They are a bit different from book cafes. They are mixed of three: library + cafe + hotel. So, they are very convenient. BUT, they charge a hella a lot of money. Money is something book lovers(like me) don't have :))

@turanli At least you can pick up a sausage egg mcmuffin while you are there unless they don't offer all-day breakfast. :)

@turanli I do understand that feeling! In Portugal, we have the good fortune of late night open departments in faculties for studying, but not for the general audience though.
I've learned to read just a few pages every night before I go to bed, and that is how I also not spend so much money on books :| but it is a hard path to achieve when you love to read so much, I can understand it's not for everyone

@sarasilva Thank you for your comment Sara Silva! I think I should adopt your habit to me. Instead of looking for a place to read all night long, I should probably just read before go to bed.
