That is all.

I keep breaking my streak because I can't remember to write. My daily activities vary and they are not consistent. I am ok with that but it makes it hard to do something regularly.

I could just set up an alarm but it doesn't work because I don't know how my day would be like.

So, I need subtle reminders.

The best way I think that happen is through a chrome extension.

Chrome extension that checks if I have written or not for that day. If I haven't, start sending reminders though popup notifications.

There are 24 hours in a day.

The extension doesn't do anything for the first 6 hours of the day. Then it make an api call.

Checks if the user has written or not. If at any point the user write, the program sleeps and doesn't run until the next day.

The user needs to input their api key and timezone into settings for this to work.

Hour 6 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "You still have 18 hours to write at least 200 words today. Have you thought about what you want write today?"

Hour 9 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "You still have 15 hours to write at least 200 words today"

Hour 12 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "You still have 12 more hours to write at least 200 words today"

Hour 15 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "9 more hours to write at least 200 words. Need ideas?"

Hour 19 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "5 more hours to write at least 200 words. You wrote Y times in the last week."

Hour 21 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "3 more hours to write! You wrote about Y on Z."

Hour 23 - api call

- Yes - "You have written X words today!"

- No - "1 more hours to write! This is your last reminder"

@itsabhinaya This happens to me. Actually it did. I'm kind of letting this account go now (for writing habit/streak) after forgetting last week one day after a good streak. But it coincided with me deciding to focus on my book, so I set up the other account, @theemotionswitch, which wouldn't require the ideas part, so maybe that could be a setting on the extension (or I could simply ignore it, of course!)

I love the idea, though, and perhaps an enhancement would be to be able to link to your own idea sheet, not just the 200WaD one, as rich as it is. Then you would have easy access when you need it to your current list of ideas, which - perhaps - it could also remind you to keep adding to...(once I get started on ideas, especially software, I can't seem to stop hahaha)

I would also add that I use Firefox (mainly because my daughter uses Chrome and to avoid having to sign in and out of profiles), so once you're done with Chrome....;-)

@arthurkendall That's a great idea. Will add it to the list.

It's actually not that hard to transfer chrome extension to Firefox so both will be coming out.

@itsabhinaya Excellent! I have some technical knowledge of web technology, but have no clue of browser extensions! Look forward to it!

@itsabhinaya Wow that's a lot of programming for a reminder. Do you have a method for planning and scheduling your activities during the day?
