Exercising after 20:00 is good for your body but bad for your sleep schedule. It wakes you up because you get a rush out of it. This rush though also fuels the brain, so if you're in a creative dump, go for a run or hit the gym. You’ll start to spend a lot of nightly hours not sleeping, but doing something creative or at least using your head, thinking. The creative benefits of exercise are so underrated. There are a lot of studies linking exercise with increased cognitive abilities, so if you want to be the best writer you can be, hit the gym right away.
When i was around 21 i got a tiny taste of enlightenment, which i have been feeding on, but also watering ever since. The way I’ve been able to water it is by focusing on getting enough exercise, eating enough “brain foods” and staying curious and engaged with the world around me. The order is not random, exercise has to come first. The human body was made to walk many miles a day, run long distances and climb both rocks and trees. Our body needs us to move in order to function at its peak. If your stuck, or feel you need to reach another level of your life, go lift.
