Back in 2013 my wife and I went on an EPIC climbing trip through south-east Asia. On that trip we went to Yangshuo, located in China's south-west Guangxi province. At that time Yangshuo had recently been discovered by Petzl, who put the place on the world map in 2011 with their annual RocTrip.
Pro climbers from all around the world flocked to the area establishing hundreds of routes and generating a ton of press coverage. Yangshuo is such a stunning area and still to this day there is endless potential to discover new crags, establish routes, and make first ascents.
If you've never heard of Yangshuo, please stop right now and google it. The landscapes are like something out of the movie Avatar - beautiful karst mountain formations exploding out of the earth in every direction for miles on end.
Last time we spent a month there and climbed at a new area almost every day. Even after a month we hadn't seen it all. It's the ultimate playground for climbers, mountain biking and hiking. This time around I'm only going for 2 weeks, but am still super excited. It's not until November, but it's all I can think about right now 😃!
