Creative writing can be hard. Sometimes you struggle to come up with anything interesting. You need to force the story out and the result probably isn't anywhere satisfying.
Then, sometimes all it takes is a simple idea. An idea that is a story in itself. A story that almost writes itself. Everything just falls in place. It almost feels like reading a book already written.
Of course, it's never that simple. Maybe you had the idea a long time ago. Brewing in the back of your mind all this time, waiting to get out. Maybe it's indeed a story already written. Not in that exact form, but a remix of all the stories you have ever read. After all, all the stories have already been told countless times before.
Maybe these pages have also been written as many times before. I know I have written about many of my subjects over and over again during the past two years. Often forgetting I have written about it, sometimes consciously wanting to revisit the topic.
But in the end, all it takes is a simple idea to tell a story. Anything can be turned into a story. It's ok to retell a story around an idea. I'm certain your combination and interpretation hasn't been told yet even if all the pieces of your story have been.
