One of the things I hate about freelancing is the client ask about Hour Rate and then compare you to those beginner hour rates. I get a lot of questions like ppl only charge XX per hour, how come you charge YY per hour

One of the real-life examples is one of my ex-client, that leave me for others with a lower rate, come back to ask for my help once. I fixed it within minutes and they are really surprised. They say their current contractor take a few days still cannot solve it, but I fixed it within minutes.

If I do a job in 30 minutes it’s because I spent 10 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.

I spend the money to learn all the teaching site, spend money to buy better tools and spend time to pick up things during the weekend, but some of the clients just compare my hour rate, sure I can do extra slow to earn a few more bucks for you but that shouldn't be the way.

Most of the time I just charge the client per task, for this to be done it will need X amount. I will just let them know that this is how much I charge and you can just divide by how many hours I estimate will need and that will be my hourly rate.
