I mean this without any exaggeration, every single one of my friends and family wants to start a company. I've heard ideas (and great ones at that!) that range from physical products to software that certainly sound like they could make money. I've heard pitches that cover the whole business model and how the company would grow. Some even have had the same idea for years.
None of them, however, have made the leap to pursue the entrepreneurial route. Why is that? Is it for lack of confidence? Lack of knowledge about particular parts of running a business? Is it fear? Maybe they want to create a product and not build a business.
My guess is that it is a combination of all of those things. It is an unfortunate consequence that all of these ideas are locked up and will not see the light of day. I wonder what type of product or service could help more people take the leap.
I am not advocating that everybody needs to be an entrepreneur. But imagine if 2% more ideas took the leap and were able to learn an actionable path forward. Maybe it is an online course or podcast or software that help create a system for people to follow and resources to use when people feel stuck. Whatever it is, I think it could help a lot of people both on the creator and consumer side of the market.
