Can you realize your emotions, what are you feeling? Do you suppress your negative emotions? Do you always do what you like?

Maybe you will answer "yes", but it is maybe a mistake. There are a lot of people who can't use their emotions to become really happy. There is a lot of reasons for it, but it means that your emotional intelligence is low. 

There is the first article about emotional intelligence. I recommend you to read it first.

How to raise your EQ level? 

As we already know, EQ based on five basic things: empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, social skill and motivation.

So, if you need to develop emotional intelligence level, you need to develop every point.

Keep emotion diary
Write down your every emotion, especially negative. Think about the reasons and your behavior. What did you feel? What did you do? What did give you emotion? Track yourself and change behavior if it's necessary. 

Learn to listen to
Learn to listen to your companion, learn to hear them.

Don't suppress your emotions
Remember: every emotion is important for you, and negative emotion isn't something negative, it is just a signal that something isn't okay and you should improve that.
