Body - Mind Connection

I think we are born with an innate body - mind connection that as we grow we lose with most of the actions we learn. We are taught to eat even if we are not hungry, we are taught to keep working even if we are tired, we are taught to stay awake even if we are dying to sleep. Every of these actions disconnects us from our body mind connection which I think is crucial for our wellbeing, emotional and physical. We have a powerful resource, our body, that is designed to let us know when something is not working well for us, however we rarely pay attention to signs, or just turn to pills to cover the symptoms. As I have worked in the last couple of years, and especially the last months, to recover that body mind connection, I have discovered how loudly the body speaks to us to what feels bad and good. The thing with recovering that connection is that when you start noticing it is difficult to ignore it again. Eating inflammatory foods like gluten and dairy, and drinking alcohol, instantly lets you know it wasn't the best options. Its reflected in the quality of your sleep, your mood and energy the next day, among others. My goal is to start listening more to my body, and start choosing decisions that are good to my wellbeing.
