I hate it.
I absolutely hate it.
I think mostly because I always forget that it is April 1st.
And I always spend a few minutes worrying about whatever the joke was.
I remember the first time I came across a bad one.
Someone told my sister that someone had broken into her car by breaking the windows. She went into a complete panic. For a good few minutes she killed a few cells worrying about what happened and what she should do.
I also had one incident. This was a couple of years ago and ironically that early April 1st morning, I sent a reminder to my family.
"Today is April 1st. Don't fall for anything outrageous people tell you."
Around noon that day, a good friend said she had an announcement. She and her husband had talked about wanting a baby boy. She told me that she was finally pregnant with one. I was very happy for her and her husband. Jumped up and down and congratulated her. Then I sent a congratulatory note to her husband. And he sent a confused response back. That's when it occurred to me.
Once again, I had become an April's fool.
