10 lessons I learned from a coked out night of tete-a-tetes.

It's a bad idea to write about real drugs on social media but I paid for these with a 24 hour hangover so they deserve to be immortalized. #200wordsTIL

1. A $90 glass of cognac (half ounce) is totally worth it. Try it if you get a chance. Unlike anything you've ever had.

---

2. Drugs open people's hearts. Remember to ask good questions and don't shy away from anything you might regret later. You won't

---

3. A surprising number of people said I was the most talented engineer they've ever worked with.

They should probably work with more engineers πŸ€”

---

4. Many people said all my writing is a waste of time and career and that I should focus on building. On account of what a great engineer I am.

That one got under my skin.

---

5. Signaling is _super_ important. Even in startups. If you want something, you gotta make sure people know you want it.

---

6. I don't make enough time for friends. Some people I consider my closest friends, I almost never talk to anymore let alone hang out with and that's sad.

---

7. Don't wait for others to initiate. If you say No too many times, they'll stop inviting you. When that happens it's your job to start inviting.

---

8. Don't be afraid to open up. A lot of folks who spend all day every day with me said they've never found out so much about me as they did on this night.

---

9. It's easier to impress others than it is to impress yourself. Take an outside perspective sometimes.

---

10. Coke hangovers suck. Stay in bed and sleep it off. You will feel better tomorrow.
