What does “perfect” mean? According to dictionaries, when something is perfect, it is as good as it is possible to be, completely free from faults or defects. But how can perfection exist when even something as simple as pencil is not flawless? There is always room for improvement, that's why perfection is unattainable. And if you are a perfectionist and you want to fight it, you have to realize one simple truth:
Nothing is perfect.
Are you a perfect human being? Obviously you aren't. Are your parents, teachers or mentors, or even people who you consider to be your heroes — perfect? They probably aren't too. Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has flaws and we all can fail. Because we are humans! And that is what makes us all unique. If everybody was perfect — where would the fun be in learning, getting better and helping others improve?
The life would've probably been very boring if we all were perfect. Can you even imagine being perfect? The first thought is that we'll all have good beautiful bodies and know everything. Does it stop there? No, because there are a ton of other flaws! Why do humans die? Let's improve that, so we are more perfect. Next, let's give everyone an ability to fly, to communicate with thoughts, to be transparent... The improvements can be infinite! This is why perfection is impossible, and you better aim for something different and more concrete than achieving perfection.
