I came across a great article which relates very much to what we're doing here on 200WAD.

The Ultimate Guide To Writing Online by David Perell

Perell argues that writing online is one of the fastest ways to accelerate one's career. All content that you publish showcases your knowledge about a certain topic and pitches your skills 24/7 to anyone interested.

He shares a detailed roadmap made up of seven. components to building a reputation through writing.

  1. The Age of Leverage
  2. Make Your Serendipity Vehicle
  3. Create Your Online Home
  4. Set Up Your Distribution System
  5. Learn to Write Clearly and Persuasively
  6. Connect with Anyone
  7. Build Your Personal Monopoly

I liked the even shorter advice in three simple steps:

  1. Pick a high value, emerging industry.
  2. Learn as much as you can.
  3. Share what you learn on your personal website.

Of course, writing and publishing consistently are critical, too. We know that great writing doesn't happen overnight, but rather comes with practice. Lots of practice.

I love how 200WAD makes writing online so easy to start. It takes away the threshold of having to create your own website and the pressure of having to write a 1000-word essay. It's simple and fulfills its purpose to get people comfortable with writing online.

@brandonwilson @basilesamel @jasonleow You're welcome! When you say you save the link for later reading, which tool do you use for that (if any)? I come across so many interesting articles and newsletters in a day that I want to read, but I struggle to put them somewhere (where???) so I don't forget about them. I'd love some advice.

@juliasaxena thanks for sharing the article. Super useful indeed! I never thought much about my writings here beyond just writing for myself, but now the article makes a good case for writing for professional gains. 🤔
