What's one weird thing you're afraid of?

For me, it's horror movies!

When I was in 10th grade, a substitute teacher let our class watch SAW in the middle of an afternoon. WTF, right?! What kind of teacher does that? I just remember that I was awkwardly trying to turn in my seat to face away from the TV without too many people noticing. Because it was considered uncool to not be into horror movies.

Over 10 years later, nothing much has changed. Still trying to avoid them like the plague. To be honest, I find most horror movies dumb and I don't get why it's fun for people to get scared. There's mostly the same story, a bunch of jump scares, and no happy ending.

The thing is, my husband loves horror movies. He's constantly trying to convince me to watch them with him. I can't even stand watching the trailers. The worst are where kids or dolls are involved which then turn evil. Just .... why?

After long discussions, I've finally agreed to watch the series Supernatural with him (I know, that's not really horror). We're starting somewhere. I love the show now, but still, hide my face for many scenes. I'm getting better though. Small steps.

@juliasaxena For me it's undergoing surgery under general anesthesia. I have never been put under, but I have this fear I'm that rare person who actually remains conscious during the procedure. I would be paralyzed yet still able to feel everything. I've read stories of people who experienced this and it sounds horrible.

@brandonwilson oh god, yeah that would be so bad. I've had surgery under anesthesia once and it was all fine luckily. It was just like falling asleep and waking up again.
