As I was writing an ebook about "how to have less stress in your life" this afternoon ...
I felt stressed.... so stressed...
I'm leaving tomorrow for Europe. I got to pack my suitcase. I got a few things for my clients to finish. I want to leave the apartment, not in a mess, but tidy.
And this stresses me out!
I don't want to get behind on work and upset my clients. Don't want to forget anything important that I'll need. Don't want to lose my streak on 200WAD.
I know, I'm probably overreacting...
This situation is only stressful because I make it so.
I also learned about the "recipe for stress" today.
Something is stressful if it's N.U.T.S.:
NOVELTY - Something new that you haven't experienced before
UNPREDICTABILITY - Something you had no way of knowing it would occur
THREAT TO THE EGO - Your competence as a person is called into question
SENSE OF CONTROL - You feel you have little or no control over the situation
What could I do? Simply react differently and not let this get to me.
Also, this is a positive thing to be stressed about.
Excited and stressed at the same time.
I know everything will be fine. Nothing too bad can happen. Nothing that can't be repaired.
