My main goals when starting 200 words a day was to write consistently and publicly. While I haven't been on any long streaks I feel I've achieved that goal to my satisfaction. I've written a lot of words this year and shared a lot here and elsewhere. But now that I've gotten comfortable with that, I'm wondering how to push myself out of my comfort zone again.
I want my writing to improve. Not only in quality but in the honesty within it. I'm still a bit hesitant at times to get too honest and that's a hurdle I still need to get over.
I'd like to write longer pieces as well. I've written many separate posts on related topics and I'd like to find a way to collect those ideas and thoughts into a single piece. I know I'm not limited to the 200-word target here but I'd like to push myself to go way beyond it more often.
This could seem shallow but I don't think it is. Writing is cathartic for myself but I'd also like my words to be helpful to others as well. How do you measure that? Views are certainly one metric but I think for me qualitative responses mean a lot more. It's great to read others thoughts on my posts and I'd like to write more pieces that meet my first two goals while impacting others as well.
