I love to dance!
Dancing has been my passion since I was a kid. When I hear a good beat, I feel the urge to get off my feet and move. I suddenly become an extrovert.
My earliest memory of wanting to dance is when I saw Michael Jackson moon-dancing. Something about how he went from one corner of the stage to the other captivated my young self. And the passion never left me after all these years.
I learnt Ethiopian dance just 3 years ago. It started with an impromptu invitation to a class from a good friend. With a very talented gentleman as the instructor, I learnt about the background of the different styles of ethnic dances. He taught me to listen to the beat and which parts of the body should be focused on for each type of music. It was an experience that I will cherish forever.
Here is a video showcasing him at his best for just a few minutes... The gentleman on the left is my Ethiopian dance teacher.
You can see the passion and bliss on his face. I believe that his love for dancing is what is keeping him healthy, happy and forever young.
