I decided to join @brandonwilson in his food as fuel project. His improvements were so inspiring that I wanted to join him as well.

So I also started to eat a strict ketogenic diet and incorporated intermittent fasting to it. I would eat just lunch and then let my body rest from any digestion activities for about 16-18 hours a day. The goal is to keep sugars stable and predictable while keeping the insulin needs as low as possible.

The first week went very well. I was in ketosis and eating exactly as I planned. I was getting more insulin sensitive and seeing stable numbers. One important progress was that I wasn't tempted by the junk food that usually causes havoc on all my goals.

Then last Friday - suddenly I started to get relentless heartburn. No matter what I did, it wouldn't go away. Same thing happened on Saturday. In the evening that day, I decided to taste a bite of a sandwich. Amazingly, the heartburn disappeared for another 24 hours. It seemed like my body was telling me not to fast.

This new development put brakes on my progress.
I need to find out more about this obstacle and kill it.

@keni I am glad you started your own food as fuel project. These obstacles are annoying, but you have the attitude to tackle them.

@brandonwilson - Thank you Brandon. It helps that we are both doing something similar and keep each other accountable. Much better than going at it alone.
