So today is a no social media day.
At least until I can watch Game Of Thrones later. Despite the UK not getting the episode aired until later tonight, all major UK news providers seem to be talking about it.
I don't mind the odd little spoiler here and there and sometimes seek them out if I am bored or not that bothered about a franchise (Avengers for example). But the UK media should know better than to broadcast spoilers even before breakfast!
I half-read something on Facebook posted by a friend who lives in Canada, which makes me think it might finish with an "it was all a dream" type thing. If so, I will be very annoyed.
But a day without social media is no bad thing. I do sometimes get stuck in the "feedback loop" of scrolling through Facebook or Reddit for no reason. I often wonder what it is I am looking for or looking to get when I am doing this.
Facebook is a bad example as it seems to just regurgitate old posts all the time, showing me things that were posted days ago - for no reason! Reddit can be a goldmine of comedy and interesting information, but I do feel that I am sometimes wanting a "hit" or am looking for something to copy and share privately with friends.
I would love to delete them all, but they are quite useful - just in moderation.
