On Friday I went to see the latest Keanu Reaves movie.
Can't remember the title. It was part 3 of a series.

I am a fan of action movies. Particularly martial arts. I love to see how flexible and amazing the human body can be.
Ever see Jackie Chain move like a ninja at 50?

Amazing.

But this Keanu Reaves movie just sucked the life out of me.
Talk about an energy draining experience.

As I witness fantastically obscene scenes of violence, my thoughts were:

Why am I here?
What is the purpose of showing all this violence?
Are people around me actually enjoying this?
When did humans need this level of excessive blood on the screen?

I was watching the movie while assessing the state of the human race.

I promised myself not to be available for any more series of this nonsense.
I need to make a more conscious effort at selecting what I am exposing myself to. Not every unimaginative Hollywood director needs my money. If we stopped showing up for any lazy hedonistic movie released, maybe they will stop making such trash?

What happened to the people that made movies like the big short, the martian and limitless?

@abrahamKim - That is so sad. I would have watched each of them twice if I could help.

@keni I had written Keanu off after the only movie I have ever walked out on in the theater: Johnny Mnemonic. He did, however, redeem himself with The Matrix. Some people argue that Quentin Tarantino movies are excessively violent, but the movies are much more than just the violence in terms of dialog, characters, and story. Violence for the sake of violence is lazy filmmaking and does not deserve patronage.

@keni for whatever reason, blood just sells these days.

I'm glad I haven't seen any of this can't remember it's title movie. And by this report I definitely won't be seeing any of it.

I actually like Keanu. And I think these guys should go back to the basics. Like what made movies like Speed and Matrix hits

I think the fact that 'blood' or 'sex' or even 'motivation' sells, is a good indicator of macro mental health. People demand such things and thus it gets created because people are struggling. A lot of people are confused. They don't know why they are doing what they are doing. And they forgot that they don't know. And htey forgot that not long ago they didn't have the answers to everything in life and they were learning. They forgot that they forgot that they didn't know everything. They forgot that they were confused. They decided instead to get pissed. And then they started to forget that they were pissed. They forgot with their head that they're pissed, but they still felt pissed. And they forgot that they didn't like being pissed. And now people are pissed about everything. Pissed that they are going to die. And that they are doing some nonsense during their short time alive. And then they're pissed because they don't know why they are doing the nonsense, because they forgot that they are doing nonsense.... but in their gut they know. That's why they want to go watch such stuff. Because they're confused.

@keni Of course I know, it's John Wick.

@abrahamKim, if your aim was to get us all confused. You achieved it 100%. lol

      @keni @seunoyebode

haha wait are you both macro-confused or just micro-confused? If the latter then all is good. I meant for that to be mumbley jumbley and confusing.
