Lucid Dreams is a South Korean science fiction mystery-thriller film.

This is one of those movies where I wish I hadn't watched the trailer or read the synopsis before watching the movie. I kept anticipating when a certain event would occur. If you are that person, please go watch the movie first.

*Spoilers*

The main character's son gets abducted and the father tries to find clues to locate his son through lucid dreaming the event. The story is told through going back and forth to that particular event.

I thought this movie had an interesting twist on movies where a certain event occurs over and over again. However, parts of the movie were too predictable and it took the fun out of a thriller.

My favorite was definitely the twist at the end where it didn't even occur to me once through the movie that it was possible.

The movie's representation of what can happen in a dream and how a dream looks like is another observation you can interpret a lot about characters feelings and overall theme of the movie.

The actors carried various emotions well throughout the movie but, I would have liked to see some more development in their backstories to connect with the story further.

7/10. You get what you want out of a triller movie.

@itsabhinaya thanks for that - added it to my list ages ago and have been wondering if it's worth a watch. Might give it a go soon!
