I have wanted to write for years. I just found Seth Godin.

He writes a blog post every day for several years.
Over 7000 posts to-date. So in awe.
I would like to join Seth. Daily. For all of 2019 starting today.

I want to write about things that move me.

Today I came across the wedding page of a close friend. While reading the post I wondered how much of it was real.

I stopped myself from thinking that way… Why was that my first reaction to a happy post?

Is this the social media effect? I have seen so many fake post about fake happy couples that I don't trust any declaration of love on social media.

But I wonder

Does social media affect how we love? Have I become more cynical to love itself?

While trying to be realistic about public declaration of love, I have concluded - β€˜the more people show love on social media, the less likely that they do it in person.’

I have no idea if there is any truth to that.

But I always considered myself an optimist.

Today I realized - when it comes to social media and love, I am a pessimist.

@keni A little bit of conservatism sure helps. Public declaration of anything comes with un-imagined pressure.

@seunoyebode - yup. A say more than a little bit.

My friends call me a walking contradiction with those type of rules I have.

@keni After feeling like social media was having too big of an effect on me I decided to unfollow everyone I knew. Now my feed is more like Instagram on FB. Now when I see people I get to hear their news from them and this feels like more of a sincere experience instead of this constant bombardment of only the happy moments. When you meet in person you get to hear all of it.

@TJ - I like that idea.... definitely sounds like a good experience.
      Thank you for sharing.

@keni Welcome! I learned about Godin's habit a few days ago. I devoured all the content I could find about it. It strongly resonates with the goal of 200WaD :)

I started writing daily by myself but I think it can't be bad to have people alongside you on this journey.

Thanks for the read. Thanks for the memory.
