Not as a patient but to assist someone else.
I finally found a place to go and play badminton. I finally held a racket after three years!
I found the location on time. Started warming up with others and played a couple of doubles games. I needed a break after that and decided to sit on the bleachers for a while.
That's when the incident happen. Right in front of my eye.
A woman in her late fifties slipped and fell on the ground. We are talking about twisted knee and hitting her head on the floor.
So what do you do when something like that happens? Do you help her to make sure she is comfortable or leave her like that until the paramedics come?
Everyone thought it was ideal if we don't try to move her.
The ambulance took well over 10 minutes to come.
While we were waiting for the ambulance, we started asking the women some questions like if we should call anyone. She says no and nothing else. She is having a hard time remembering where she is or what she was doing.
I just couldn't let someone like that go to the ER by herself. I wanted to make sure at least one of her family members was there before I left.
It took a couple of phone calls and messages before I found the right person on her phone. I am just glad someone was able to come and be right by her.
It's scary af to be alone in that situation. Also, reminded me to go print my insurance card to keep it in my wallet.
