I'm one of the few people on here who actively advocated for letting go of your streak. Someone who argued the silliness of maintaining it just for the sake of maintaining it. But I wanted to write this in honor of @keni. I now have a reason not to break the streak! And It's not about the streak at all. It's simply that the streak is the spoon to feeding me what I really care about.

There used to be a guy named tim on here who wrote. He was one of the reasons I came to this site daily. When he stopped writing on here I lost a bit of motivation to come here -- not for writing, but for reading. Anyways, the social aspect is what's most important for me here. And now I have a social reason to continue the streak and never break it.

When Tim used to write, he and I were on like similar post counts. So I enjoyed watching he and I climb the fellowship ladder together. But now, I just checked and saw that Keni and I are now climbing together. And so I do not want to break the streak because I want to continue climbing with Keni -- like the Ice Breakers ahaha -- and of course we know Keni neverrrrrr breaks her streaks. So it appears as though, I now will neverrrrrr be breaking them either.

    @abrahamKim hehe your post made me smile. Love the analogy of climbing a mountain together!

    @abrahamKim - :) I think I know Tim. Tim made me sad too. We need to find Tim and get him to come back.
    I am happy to climb that ladder you speak of together. I love the social aspect of this sitter as well. Found a few like minded friends who seem like genuinely decent people. So when one disappears, it feels sad.
    You should write more in things like the weekly topic and evolution. You have an interesting take and it would be awesome to read daily posts by you

      @abrahamKim @keni Don't break the chain. I'm glad you have turned away from the Dark Side of streak-breaking advocacy. :)

      I still hold dark-side ideology haha. The ideology is simply in dissonance with the practical realities of social desire though!

      Anyways. I kind of now lament the fact that we are already near the top of the ladder. I kind of wish there was a higher ladder that we can climb together.... hey maybe that ladder will be less concrete and more abstract? Like climbing a ladder in real life together as in partnerships via some project.

      Wow. that's so cool. Here I was lamenting about how the ladder we are climbing together wasn't tall enough... and then I just realized... LIFE is filled with ladders!

      @abrahamKim - I agree with that statement. Life is all about climbing ladders and discovering people and experiences together.
      There is a post/book title - Life is filled with ladders.

      @keni

      Life isn't a rat race or a ladder. it's an antifragile world of sinking ladders. Don't be sad that the ladder you're on is sinking into the water. Look over there, there is another one! You can't reach it? There is someone who is trying to help you. Just open your fucking, brain you robust idiot!

      You can tell I've begun Antifragile. I feel like I've already earned $300 grand from just reading the first ~70 pages.

      @abrahamKim - It is a unique book. I remember how everything I did was evaluated on whether it would make me fragile or not. I really annoyed people around me but it helped bring clarity in my decisions.

      Enjoy the book.

    Whoops. Looks like this post put me one above and I am no longer climbing with @keni. The algorithm for the streak counted for the fact that it was only supposed to count one post-per day, so I thought maybe it would do that on the fellowship ladder as well. But, I guess I now get to break a day of my streak so that I can go back to climbing with Keni haha.

      @keni

      Ha i always forget that you can write more than one daily.

      Near the deadline over the weekend, I wanted to write two back to back. So I wrote one before the deadline and one after. But turned out that because of differences in day light savings time, it ended up posting twice on one day. So the app thought I didn't post for the next day and it ended up breaking my streak. So I did break my streak, but we are still climbing the ladder together haha.
