I get myself the latest kindle paperwhite from Amazon US last December.
The reason I'm thinking to buy it because I see a lot of online content and I have tons of ebooks sitting in my iMac without reading.
- I heard that e-link is good for eyes.
- I try to avoid sitting in front of my iMac to read.
- I don't want to keep myself playing with phone lesser, don't want to use it to read.
So I was thinking maybe this Kindle Paperwhite can help me to read more without giving too much stress to my eyes.
Nope, I didn't buy it during Black Friday because only previous generation paperwhite has discount and I nearly bought it. After two weeks later, Amazon launches early 12 Dec discount and this time the latest version of Kindle Paperwhite is getting $20 discount.
Since I can't get Amazon to send it directly to my location, need to use some forwarder to forward it, by the time I get the kindle paperwhite is about to end December, I give myself two weeks to familiar with it, but I think I use it less than five times.
For me the device is like another walled garden, everything I need to email to that kindle email to read, the app can't sync between desktop and the kindle, content that I save in Instapaper also need to mail it over to read in kindle daily. It doesn't feel smooth like reading on iPad or iPhone; it's tough for me to fit in my whole Apple workflow.
In the end, I just went back to read on iPad, maybe find some time to try Kobo, it seems like it's more open integrate with other services.
