After all the streak talk, I do a little bit brainstorm on this topic and here are some of my suggestions
1. Maybe if 200wad can pick up how Makerlog community handle the streak day with the concept of "Rest Day", every ten posts you got a rest day etc. In this way, others can take a break once in a while but still maintain the streak. This option can be toggled, so for the hardcore user can turn the feature off and continue to write daily.
2. Vacation mode - Users, can pause their streak for a short period when they away, again this might tie to how much post the user has written before.
3. Quantity mode, let's say user miss it yesterday but publish two posts today, this fixed the Streak. User can pre-publish a few posts, and the next few days can take a break.
4. Flexible edit publish date, the actual publish date is saved, but another alternative publish date is allowed to edit, and the Streak is using that parameter to calculate.
From what I understand after Makerlog community introduce the rest day concept, the trash tasks log has reduced. We might want to see how can we improve the Streak mechanism to motivate the writer.
