How many people read your posts?

Current day streak: 257🔥
Total posts: 257💌
Total words: 57299 (229 pages 📄)

It would be interesting to know, right? ... or it is better to do not know that?

The line between motivation and desperation (or depression) is thin.

If I am talking about my posts ... The majority pretty sucks and I wish nobody would ever read it (the streak is the streak) .. but in my opinion, in a few of them you can find some nice thought ... and if the post clicked with me, I would be happy to see that someone even just one read it. Am I alone?

... the curiosity is definitely somewhere back in my mind ... Basile do you know the stats? Will you tell me? Are you planning to add some advanced statistics? @basilesamel

... you could do a list of top posts on 200WaD, based on views or comments (you don't need to do the worst list .. just take all my posts haha) ... so many possibilities with this project ... there is definitely some quality content but hard to find it ...

or you can put some self-evaluation of the post by the author .. nice to read, so so, it sucks don't read it :)) .. and the others could filter the posts based on this metric.

What do you think?:)

@efran I actually like not seeing views. I'm more into forming connections and relationships on here so I judge less on views-per-post and rather engagements and even further to ongoing discourse and then fully further into relationships forged.

@efran I do plan on releasing an update dedicated to improving the reading experience, including the number of views. Self-evaluation won't work obviously because some people just want to market their content. I'm thinking of a filtering algorithm combining views, reactions, and feedbacks.

@efran I sort of am interested to know, but am also worried that I will then be writing for the wrong reasons.

@efran @twizzle @basilesamel I think views are a more valuable statistic than "likes." Medium provides the number of views and the number of reads. I'm not sure how that is calculated..time spent on the page? My biggest issue with content delivery platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn is they all decide who gets to see your content. At least on 200WAD every post has a shot to be seen based on who is following and how often people view the main page. I hope said filtering algorithm does not take 200WAD down the path of the "big" guns.

@efran @twizzle @brandonwilson Filtering is useful to distribute good content but it won't affect the landing page. It's going to remain a community, so no filters based on popularity on the main feed. Think Reddit's Hot/Trending/Newest tabs :)

@twizzle ... I think it doesn't need to change the reason of writing here .. just a little motivational push :)
