What can I say about habits....
This year has been the one year that I have been intentionally consistent with habits in more than one area of my life:
In the Money/Finance area I've been tracking my expenses monthly and that has allowed me to catch areas where I'm overspending and take corrective action.
In the area of Spirituality, I recently developed a new practice to meditate daily for at least 5 minutes. This has brought me an increased sense of inner peace and alignment with the universe.
About a month ago, I started a new habit of making eye contact and smiling at random people. By doing five of these interactions a day, I've noticed that even this simple act is a stretch for me (which is something I didn't know before about myself and has gotten me wondering where THAT is coming from...). However, when I do complete my daily goal I do get a noticeable confidence boost.
In the area of Career/Business, I've been holding a habit of waking up extra early every day and making the most in my career/business out of my first few hours of the morning, which I feel are also the most productive. Thanks to this I've been able to make sustained progress in my indie maker journey, whereas before this I was sporadic and scattered at best.
Fitness-wise, I've been maintaining a sustained gym and diet routine since the beginning of the year. Not only has this brought me a healthier version of myself, but also allowed me to hit the 200Lbs of lean mass milestone a few weeks ago.
Needless to say, keeping my habit of writing daily has been an amazing outlet for me to distill my emotions and express myself creatively.
We are almost at the end of the year (2.5 months to go!!!) and I can happily say that I can see the positive difference in myself of having consistency in my habits. Which habits have you picked and kept this year? What improvements have you noticed in yourself as a result?
