Have you heard about Tony Pratchett and Discworld? I suppose it is a rhetorical question for Brits, maybe not so rhetorical for French... is it?
(Them French, they seem to have rather resisted Anglicization, have they not? I mean... who have never heard about Anne of Green Gables??? French children! Yet, maybe it is just us here, in the North, loving this Canadian girl. Generations have grown up on stories about that redhead. But, I think we ARE much more Anglicized that Francized... I don't know. I definitely don't recall many French stories from my childhood, so maybe there is some cultural conspiracy? [Later on, there were The Three Musketeers of course, and Arsen Lupin... and, well, ok, The Little Prince, even more OF COURSE!] Maybe we used to reject Frenchness, because Great Russia was so in love with them. Yet... weren't we in love with Napoleon? WE so WERE! And... it cost us a GREAT DEAL! Another possible reason to avoid "them French"!
Yeah... and yet... I haven't managed, have I @philh ? Even 200WaD forces me to put a space between the handle and... well, anything else, if I want it to work...)
And... 200 words done!
