Parent post: Streak Teams!

@brianball I love your post (well, don't I ever... :-)

I am crazy excited about all possible ways to weave us all together to share inspirations, motivations...

The team spirit is really taking over. Amazing, invigorating, heart melting!

Your wonderful idea creates a wide circle, open for all of us who write our hearts out here <3

With or without streak!

Sometimes I wonder, if actually being a BraveStreaker wouldn't be harder on me than being a #LongStreaker (#TeamStreakers...)

(I used to call BraveStreakers StreakBreakers, as from time to time they collect "a tear". But they have just another kind of consistency. They relentlessly come back. @keenencharles is my absolute idol. "having that desire for a place to share your thoughts keeps you coming back even if you missed a day and broke your streak. I've probably broken my streak like 25 times now but I just try to continue writing as soon as I can.")

Love and respect! [I actually miss the tears as they were another kind of badge - "The Resilient" - consistent in inconsistency!])

Back to @brianball gathering. Our Couches/ Lounges/ Circles idea came from exactly the same thoughts and needs.

Some time ago @Philh and I wrote the Lounges Manifesto. Maybe a Circle of Writers is a better name, right @basilesamel?

@philh

200WaD is about helping people to write with the support of a community.
One can only do so much by setting your own goals without feedback and encouragement from others. 200WaD transforms the β€œgood resolutions that never work” into a collective experience which supports personal writing discipline and development.

Sweet, right!?

@ lucjah

Some write in private, for nobody to see. Some write their stories in the open, yet without seeking support from others, led by deep inner drive. But there are many, like me, motivated through interactions
My need to interact on 200wordsaday.com, to share, to discuss often ended with me hitting the limits of communication on the website. I wanted more! Comments made me believe that I am not the only one, that others experience the same need for more intense interactions
A community space where members of the collective are able to meet and interact - converse, motivate and encourage each other, share their work and posts of others, present opinions, discuss, improve, create ideas. In separate groups which reflect their needs and interests.
There could be all kinds of serious (gathering writers with specific interest or need) and... Fun Circles (Like for example β€œ100th Post Circle” with 1 day long membership)

Full text here.

Maybe we can integrate all of these wonderful ideas and become a Circle Creating Circles???

(My beloved baby was the idea of The Nursery Circle, an attempt of reply to a hard question "How can we keep Newbies on 200WaD?"

Nursery - Default Circle for First Posters. With automatic membership after publishing their first post, they would instantly belong to a group of siblings facing the same challenges.

So that I don't need to post more @ OnepostersGems, right?!)

      @brianball I KNOW!
      I was actually personally protesting... and THE MOMENT Basile removed them, I realised how important they were for me... the structure of the OnePostersGems profile was actually based on them... dam(n)

    @lucjah I suggested that 30 consecutive posts is enough for someone to join #Teamstreak. It is interesting the contrast between what you call LongStreakers and BraveStreakers. For #Teamstreak make it to 30 and you stay in until you break your streak then you're OUT. Very clear-cut. For BraveStreakers I'm not sure how you measure the "keep coming back part." What if someone is gone for three months and then comes back? Is that a BraveStreaker? I admire people who have the resiliency to keep trying, but if they get a cool name and recognition there should be some rules around who meets that classification.

      @brandonwilson LOL... that's a call for serious rule management here :-)))
      Well, I didnt think about it PRECISELY (yet?).
      I observe from close a few writers, who break their streak (sometimes... 25 times :-))) and yet are here, "consistently".
      I think I would actually leave the distinction to them. I think they know themselves...
      I understand the rule of TeamStreak, if it was a "TeamStreak Circle" it would ba a defoult I imagine - you find yourself there once you publish 30th post, you are out if you break the streak. But if there was a "BraveStreakers Circle" I see it as a place which one can join, if searching for people of the similar situation, attitude to the Streak... they seem to have different or partly different take on 200WaD.

      @brandonwilson - oh -- I've already had streaks > 100 days, so I'm confident I can prove myself worthy once again.

    So here we go again! All of us...
    DO WE WANT TO CREATE ALL KINDS OF CIRCLES?!
    (above 29 posts, I recall 30 posts being mentioned as some kind of Threshold)

      @lucjah You remember me! :-p ;-)
      I still don't know how it would work without some potentially significant work on the platform which may or may not coincide with @basilesamel's vision, but I definitely still like the idea of building the community side of things, and love the CIRCLE idea (actually I loved the sofa idea too :D). I would definitely be a Bravestreaker.

      My take is that my family and life balance is too important to be concerned with not breaking a streak, so I would never be a Teamstreaker for long, if ever, except on my book account, when I finally sort out the new direction it wants to take, but that is very specific and I wouldn't take part in a general circle unless it allowed me to help people by addressing aspects covered in the book.

      So the idea of multiple circles is perfect if it can be conceived. Nice to see you fired up again!
