I'm breaking two rules with this post. The first rule I'm breaking is the First Rule of 200wad. I wrote about it before. I basically invented it. The second rule is not so much a rule as a principle: don't let yourself become beholden to a task for the sake of the task. I also wrote about this.
So here I am, on 200 wad, mentioning 200wad in a post I am only writing because I feel like keeping my streak. To be fair (to myself) I didn't publish anywhere else today. The point of the rule was not to worry about a streak on a website (this one) if you're still doing what you need to be doing: writing on a daily basis.
The only reason it's all come apart, why I've been reduced to betraying my own principles, is because I didn't finish Part 5 of my Havana series. I need to write a sex scene and I want to do it right - whatever that means. Well, I know what it means. It means not turning it into a candidate for the Bad Sex in Fiction Award. It means taking a bit more time writing, and it also means more than 200 words.
There is also a personal blog I've recently returned to. I'm editing and adding pictures to it today. That's it.
