This post is about the second meaning of blind spot.
"an area in which one fails to exercise judgment or discrimination."
Example in a sentence:
She has a blind spot concerning her son's behavior.
I am very interested in this topic. I first noticed it some years back but now I think all of us have blind spots... though it is more severe in some than others.
There are specific topics that we are irrationally stubborn and illogical about.
After meeting someone for the first time, I usually would enjoy their company. But then a controversial topic comes up and I hear something ridiculous.
This has happened so many times that I now instinctively wait cautiously for it. I prefer to not be surprised.
Another thing I want to do is trying to understand what my blind spots are.
I am convinced that all of us are guilty of it. it is a matter of how much of it we are aware of.
With emotions similar to patriotism, it is hard to know when a person's ideas, convictions and thoughts are a result of free thought or a result of some brain washing that occurred many years ago.
