I love 200WAD because it forces me to write a lot. 200 words don't seem like much at first, but coming up with an interesting topic every day is challenging. I keep a list of topics I want to write about and add to it as soon as I think of something.
The point is: If it were easy, it wouldn't work and help me improve. Eventually, I'll run out of the generic, average ideas. I need to get those out of the way first. Then, only then, the interesting stuff will come. Everything I didn't know was in me. Most of that might also be junk, but there could be also a few gold nuggets.
The lesson is: To really hone a skill, do a large volume of work. It needs constant repetition and reiteration to get better. The mind needs to be stretched further and further. Everybody can have lots of average ideas, but only people who keep digging will find a brilliant idea. If you aren't satisfied with your ideas yet, keep going.
So far, I'm not overwhelmed by my ideas and way of writing yet. They are ok. Certainly, lots of room for improvement. But I'm enjoying the process.
